Railway Tracks

The acrid rain sliced at my skin
As those wretched creatures tore at my flesh
Feasting on my pain
Laughing at my cries of despair and anguish
And then, as I grew silent they left
For the game had lost its amusement
They slipped away
Leaving me in the street
Drowning in sweat
Choking on blood
Lay a broken man
I gave a silent vow of revenge
Knowing the fallacy of my own words
Aware that they would never bear fruit
I rolled over to see pieces of skin and muscle
strewn carelessly across the tracks
but, what appeared clearer in my dim vision
were the shards of my shattered heart
for my assailant
was someone I only knew too well
the only person I had ever trusted;
my blue-haired angel
lay in my thoughts
as two great orbs of light came running towards me
