Environment

I have realized that our planet is dying, yes a rather large thing for me to be thinking about, since theres not much I can do about it....

Or is there?

Certainly I can bag on people about recycling as much as I want, and try as hard as I can to recycle every scrap of paper I find lying about, however, I’ve been realizing that we, though we were made to maintain an equilibrium with our planet, are not fulfilling that duty, we are creating more and more garbage while destroying resources, garbage doesn’t biodegrade very well, about as well as nuclear waste, well actually, it does degrade better than nuclear waste, so why is it that we seal this waste in basin made of perfectly degradable metal and send it to the bottom of the ocean? obviously the basin will degrade faster than the waste... then what will happen? hmmm?

You never thought of that, did you Mr. President?

Well whatever, I mean its not like we're going to do anything about our planet now are we? we're all going to continue buying our iPods, wearing our designer jeans and eating from our disposable cups at fast food restaurants. but hey, who am I to point fingers, though I don't partake in the sport of buying/wearing designer jeans (yes putting them on is difficult enough to be called a sport) and don't own an iPod I do hold in my possession a number of other items that are made of plastic and non-biodegradable substances, (if they can recycle one type of plastic, why can't we recycle them all? or why e=don't we make them all recyclable hmm?) I have books in a cheap Ikea bookshelf, plants in cute porcelain pots.. a table with a bunch of used tissues on it.. oh yea, I'm sick and need to go to school, hey look, I'm using up energy possibly supplied by a nuclear power plant. yay. I love to use up resources for no good reason. it makes my day.

Oh, sorry did I make you upset?

No one likes to have a hard dose of cold cruel reality shoved at them, now do they? why is this; I wonder..?

Possibly because people know that if they admit there’s a problem they will have to admit that they're part of it. because they are. and then they will have to become part of the solution. and that’s no fun.

No iPods.

No designer jeans.

No food from McDonalds

No one wants to leave those things behind. ah well, I have to go to school, have to waste more paper with notes, kill more resources with my pencil, which might I add is made of plastic. hah. plastic.
